I am a new patient, do I need my records transferred?

Most of the time we will assess your mouth and then request a records transfer if we feel it is important. If you have come for a second opinion, any recent records would be beneficial.

How are our fees based?

We look at the time and the skill level involved for the treatment and the costs of materials, equipment, sterilisation and high quality staff who help take care of you. Our aim is to always provide excellent quality care at a reasonable cost.

Who makes the laboratory work?

All of the laboratory work at Dr Willard Lee dental is made locally. It is more expensive than sending work to Asia but there are much better quality and material standards here. We don’t put anything in your mouth that we wouldn’t put in our own. Most of the components for the implant work we do come from Switzerland. All material and workmanship are TGA approved.

How often should I go to the dentist?

Everyone has different needs. Depending on how well one looks after their teeth, we usually see patients every six to twelve months. We usually look at recommending a suitable time frame for each person after each check up appointment.

My partner complains that I have bad breath. What can I do?

Brushing and flossing are definitely the first steps to eliminating bad breath. Good oral hygiene helps to remove bacteria responsible for creating odour producing sulphur compounds and the food they feed on. However, bacteria hide not only on and around the teeth but also on the tongue under a layer of mucous.  Brushing the whole tongue or using a tongue scraper can effectively remove the mucous layer.
The latest products on the market for bad breath are mouthwashes containing chlorine dioxide. The chlorine dioxide neutralises the sulphur compounds, instead of simply masking the odour.
